C5:
A RANGE AT ITS PEAK
Two-and-a-half
years after its launch, the C5 range is now
complete, with saloon and
estate body styles and a range of petrol and
diesel engines
Almost 400,000 units have been sold since its
launch. The Citroën C5
was recently upgraded with the new 16-inch wheels
fitted on more
models, new telematics options, and a 6-speed manual
gearbox with the
2.2 HDi 16V engine.
NEW
16-INCH WHEELS
The
new “Hungaro” type 16-inch wheels have been adopted
for the 2.0i 16V
and 2.0 HPi engines with the Exclusive trim,
replacing the 15-inch
wheels, and for the 3.0i V5 and 2.2 HDi 16V engines,
on both the saloon
and estate.
NEW TELEMATICS
OPTIONS
Replacing the two existing navigation
systems, the C5 is now available with two new
telematics systems:
_ black-and-white telematics system + 6-CD stacker
_ colour telematics system + 6-CD stacker
These two systems, which feature the same
applications as those already
available on the C8 range, include a navigation
system (black-and-white
or with a 16:9 colour screen), a CD/RDS audio
system, built-in dual
band hands-free telephone and a 6-CD stacker. These
telematics systems
also offer voice recognition and voice synthesis
functions, allowing
the driver to control the main functions while
keeping both eyes on the
road and both hands on the wheel. As before, the
main functions are
also available on the lower right-hand stalk switch.
A NEW 6-SPEED
MANUAL GEARBOX
With this change, the C5 2.2 HDi 16V
gains enhanced driveability, particularly on fast
stretches of road and on motorways.
The gear ratios are unchanged on the first four
gears. The fifth gear
is shorter (46.41 km/h instead of 49.42 at 1,000
rpm)* and the sixth
gear develops 56.19 km/h* at 1,000 rpm. These new
gear ratios offer
increased acoustic comfort over journeys at a steady
speed. In these
same driving conditions, a fall in fuel consumption
can be observed,
owing to the lower engine speed.
Performance, acceleration and top speed remain
unchanged.
