USINE CITROËN JANAIS

(Rennes la Janais factory)



In 1958 Citroën chose a site at la Janais near Rennes in Brittany for its first assembly plant outside the Paris region and the plant was inaugurated by General de Gaulle in 1961.

Production of the Ami 6 started shortly thereafter and it was launched in April 1961.






The plant currently produces over 300,000 PSA vehicles annually and occupies a site of 240 hectares with 80 buildings.
