CITROËN's press release and these photos lay claim to
zero fuel consumption, zero CO2 emissions and zero noise.
This is, of course, not true.
Electricity
is a transmission sytem and not a power source. Even in France where
approximately 79% of the electricity is generated in nuclear power
stations, some of the electricity is generated from traditional,
polluting sources. And if one believes in man-made 'climate change',
this means that while there are no exhaust emissions from the C Zero,
there are still emissions as a result of the electricity generation in
the power stations. And of course, nuclear power has its own attendant
pollution problems.
As
for the zero noise claim, this also is not true. There will be tyre and
wind noise. And so-called silent cars represent a hazard for the blind.
This
seems to me to be little more than an attempt to placate the green
lobby - or to make money from those who feel the need to salve their
conscience.
