Saipa Citroën Xantia


SAIPAC (Société anonyme iranienne de production des automobiles Citroën)was established in 1965 with 75% Iranian state ownership and 25% Citroën, to assemble Citroëns under license for the Iranian market.

In 1966 it started to manufacture a version of the Citroen Dyane, and a pick up.

In 1975 it changed its name to SAIPA (Société anonyme iranienne de production des automobiles) after the Iranian state withdrew from the company.

With effect from 2000, the company started to assemble the Xantia.
