An odd one this - a review of the DS19 in what was
effectively a children's magazine.
As Tim Jarman who sent it to me observed, "First, do you think Citroën
would lend out a press car for a short article in what was essentially
a children's magazine? I'm not sure they would have. Also, the photo
may be one from the 1955 launch, note the '1956 DS19" plates that all
these cars had. If I'd have the use of a DS in 1957, I think I would
have taken my own pictures of it! I wonder if the author ever drove
one, or was simply tasked with writing a creative piece. They had a
similar write-up of a big car each month, but all the others I have
seen were the usual British grey porridge."
Furthermore there is an error - gear is not to the right of first on
the selector but involves pulling it back towards the steering wheel.
