Notwithstanding Volvo's claims to make the safest cars in the
world in the nineteen eighties, Citroën
was in the forefront of developing safe cars from the outset.
Where Volvo majored on passive safety (ensuring a vehicle's occupants
survived a collision), Citroën believed that active safety (being able
to avoid a collision thanks to cars that handled and stopped properly)
was equally as important. |
